SUMMARY This is an excellent opportunity to join a dynamic greenfield commercial insurance organisation, operating in Direct Marketing Environment. You will provide software support activities relating to the provision of MIS, taking responsibility for further business modelling developments and MI related projects.
JOB DESCRIPTION To provide full operational and some technical support services for Business Objects application processing and ad-hoc processing in SPSS.
To assist in the development and implementation of Business Objects consumption reports SQL queries in order to produce data extracts Reconciliation process between data warehouse and source system
To provide Management Information Statistics where appropriate.
To provide support for Month end processing.
To assist in ad-hoc requests for business modelling and MIS as requested by management .
Liase with external database consultants and IT contractors for troubleshooting the data loading process.
Possible participation to further Data Warehouse Design Project.
REQUIREMENTS Educated to Graduate level, with ideally 2 years commercial experience.
Good interpersonal and written communication skills.
Ability to communicate and interpret numerical data at all levels .
Ability to work under pressure, achieving objectives to a high standard.
Understanding of I.T. principles and best practices.
Good knowledge of relevant current hardware and software products.
Understanding of general Data warehouse architecture and interface with source systems would be desirable but not essential.
Accuracy and attention to detail.
Good internal / external customer facing skills
Ability to work under pressure and deliver against tight deadlines
Willingness and flexibility to learn new hard and soft skills.
Ability to work on one owns initiative as well as be an active team player within the Pricing and MI team.
Ability to communicate ideas\solutions to improve the delivery to the business.
Technical Skills:
SPSS
Business Objects Microsoft DTS, Standard SQL ,and SQL Server 2000 and would be an advantage, otherwise training will be provided.
