SUMMARY Working a 3 shift rota you will be an experienced AS400 operator capable of supporting both AS400 machines in the companies Head Office in Essex.
Working within a team of four you will be required to undertake a range of activities including the following:-
System Management IPL, PTFs and message handling
Work Management Job Control, Spooling, Priorities
Saves / Restores
Device Configuration
Batch job schedules
Systems Issues
Communications troubleshooting
Dealing with User issues
Liase with Data Control
Liase with Software and Hardware Engineers
Provide First line support on the Help Desk to PC Users.
REQUIREMENTS You should have a minimum of two years experience working in a similar environment with good knowledge of operating AS400s and possess good PC skills. Knowledge of Windows NT, Windows 5, MS Office would be a distinct advantage as would configuration of devices.
As you will work alone on the nightshift you must be able to demonstrate that you are reliable and are able to work on your initiative. The IT department consists of four sections: Development, PC Support, Operations and Technical Support, therefore, you will have the opportunity to move into other areas of the department should you wish to do so.
After training you will be required to work the following 3 shift rota cycle.

Mon - Thurs 08.45 17.15 Fri 08.45 16.45
Mon - Thurs 15.00 23.30 Fri 17.00 00.30
